Full Metal Panic - The Second Raid

Rozen Maiden

Hi.... This is my little contribution.

Rozen Maiden is a 12-episode animation. The main character is a boy named Jun who refused to step out of his house due to some trauma at school. Instead he stayed at home and made things difficult for his sister Nori by being rude to her and ordering things off the Internet. One day, he came across a strange website which asked him to place his order by putting the order form in the drawer of his desk. Soon after he did that, he received a strange package which a beautiful doll lies within. He wound up the doll and the Rozen Maiden doll, Shinku, came to life. She made him her servant and from then on, they had many adventures and they also met other Rozen Maiden dolls.

The storyline isn't very unusual but what I like about this animation is the design and personalities of the characters. The characters are quite lively and hence make the animation quite entertaining. Jun looks tough on the outside but he has a lot of fears to deal with on the inside. Shinku, with long golden hair and dressed in red, is my favourite character. She's tough and always orders Jun to to make her tea or snacks or open the door for her (She's short, so she has a problem reaching the door knobs.). Hinai Ichigo looks like a Strawberry Shortcake to me. She's like a little baby, very noisy but very sweet looking. Souseiki and Suiseiki are twins. What's most distinctive about them is that they have dual-colored eyes. Souseki is kind and gentle while Suiseiki is always critisizing but she's quite okay underneath. (Jun calls her The Mean Doll.)

This is only season 1 of the series. The producers are working on season two now. There's a manga series on this title but I'm not so sure whether it's available in Singapore. That's all I have. Below are some links if you want to learn more about this title.
