Naruto is very popular in many countries.... Many people I know follows it like Chin Chin...
It's basically about a boy who, because he has the nine-tailed fox spirit in him, was disliked by the people in his village. He later joined the ninja school and vowed to be a great ninja. The whole series is basically about him and his friends in the village and from other ninja schools. (I think there's the overview. Please forgive me if I get anything wrong. I didn't really watch the series. It's still on-going as far as I know.)

if u plan to watch now, u got a lot of serious catching up to do... naruto is an ongoing series that is shown is japan every week. the latest episode (released this morning) is 152.
i think naruto stands out from many other anime of the same genre because of its well developed characters. on top of the creative fighting techniques and captivating plot, the anime also focus a lot on the character's feelings and emotions. it is also unlike other animes where they focus only on the main character, while the other characters are slowly forgotten. in naruto, most of the characters grow throughout the series, learning new fighting techniques. their past, background, aspirations etc are also slowly revealed as the series progresses. these makes the series very addictive (warn u first... u will be hooked!).

Wow!!! It's already 152 episode! That mean its 5 to 6 boxes!!! Wow.. if I going to buy, it will burn a whole in my pocket.
However, the way u described make me want to watch it. I will consider this anime now. But I wonder when will the episode end. hmmm...

hoho.. dun count on it ending any time soon. the naruto anime is adapted from the manga. currently the manga is already in its second season. the anime juz ended the first season and is currently showing a few side stories that are not in the manga. these stories, called fillers, are there to allow the manga to progress further so that the anime will not overtake the manga, and run out of story. therefore, it is pretty clear that the anime plan to follow the second season of naruto. i would expect naruto to have at least 250 episodes in all :)
